What is an eSIM?

An eSIM is a digital SIM card embedded in your device, allowing you to activate a mobile plan without needing a physical SIM card. The replacement for SIM cards. eSIM is an ‘embedded SIM’. That means everything you needed a SIM card for can be stored and updated onto the device itself. No more plastic SIM cards getting lost or damaged. No more jamming paperclips into the side of your €500–1,000 phone.

How do I activate my eSIM?

You will receive activation details via email. Follow the step-by-step instructions to scan the QR code or enter the provided activation details in your device settings.

Can I use an eSIM on any device?

Most modern smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches support eSIM technology. Check your device’s compatibility in the settings or user manual.

Can I install one eSIM on several devices?

No. One eSIM can only be installed on a single device. Additionally, most eSIMs can only be installed once.

What should I do if I encounter issues with my eSIM?

Can I switch between different eSIM profiles?

Yes, you can switch between multiple eSIM profiles if your device supports it. Go to your device settings to manage and switch between your eSIM profiles.

Will my eSIM work in a Smart Watch?

Whilst we are aiming to offer eSIMs compatible on wearable devices in future, we do not currently support this with our technology. Our eSIMs are supported on Mobiles, Tablets and Laptops.

How do you add data plans to an eSIM?

Just a few changes to the phone settings that all eSIM-enabled phones support with ease. Flexim enables data plans to be ‘pushed’ to a phone user simply by scanning a QR code.

How many eSIM profiles can be stored at once?

That really depends on the handset. For example, the iPhone 12 allows you 10 to be stored at once. But only one eSIM profile can be used at a time. Phones with SIM card slots enable you to use one regular SIM card profile and one eSIM profile simultaneously. This is called “Dual SIM with an eSIM”.

Can I send SMS or make phone calls using my eSIM?

Most eSIMs are data only, thus you won’t be able to send an SMS or make a phone call through them. However, internet-based messaging and calling services can be accessed using the mobile data provided by your eSIM.
